Scraping membranes?

Soooo I have another apt for next Thursday and want to ask my doctor if he'd be willing to scrape my membranes.!. How many of you ladies have done it and what was your doctors response I'm kind of nervous.?.

Had mine done today at 39+1. It wasn't any more uncomfortable than being checked. Hoping for some progress any time now!

I had it done with my first daughter and I went into labor the same day. It was a little uncomfortable but not too bad.

Did it and it was uncomfortable that first day and then nothing and no baby. She was two weeks late. My sister in law was in awful pain for a long time and when asked to do it a second time she said no. We are all
differnent.

I'm hoping I can get it done this Thursday, but some of the gals on here mentioned you need to be effaced almost 100%. I don't know if that is going to happen for me by Thursday.

My brother in laws girlfriend had it done. My mother in law was in the hospital and not expected to live long so they wanted to have the baby before she passed. It worked, she went into labor but ended up having an emergency c section, not sure if that had anything to do with the membrane, just her experience. My niece was born May 18 and my mother in law passed May 31.
