Bad master?

Hey everyone! I want to know your opinion. I have a friend who was kind of my master for a while but we have recently decided to just be friends. He said to me once that to a master there is only physical and not mental (talking about maintaining a healthy wellbeing for the slave). I thought this was bullshit because part of a master’s role is to make sure his slave is mentally as well as physically healthy. Do you guys think this makes him a bad master?
