Nipple piercing too short?

I got my nipples pierced yesterday and I asked if the person doing it would make them a tad bit longer so I could clean them easier and I think they look better when they don't touch the sides of your nipples...so is the cleaning going to be harder and is healing going to take longer? And how long is it going to be until I can change into a longer piercing. Thank you for any answers you can give me!!

Did you go to a certified place? They should have gone over all of that with you and gave you a hand out on cleaning instructions. The piercing will be swollen for a bit, it’s why most places generally do a longer jewel, they account for the swelling, and generally you want to completely heal before changing, can take 6 weeks if not longer.

google an APP piercer near you and have them check them out!

they either know best or don't know enough. a long bar is typically better for healing but maybe they gave you what they thought would work best. just keep them clean (water or soap or saline only) and unfortunately you can't change them until they're healed which is 6 months to a year.
