What did contractions feel like for you?

Im a first time mom and thats one thing that Im really nervous about leave a comment on tips and how to handle them.

They start out tolerable and exciting!
Then they get pretty rough but they come and go and you're still focused on baby!
Lastly, they don't come and go. They come and stay, you feel like you must get that baby out NOW or you wont make it. 
Then, baby comes out and all of a sudden it's just OVER! It all just stops! And you have the most incredible gift life has to offer!

They are very painful, but I handled it fine. If you can find the space between the contractions and relish in that (without thought of the last one or fear of the next), that helps a lot. Zen mind.
Massage is very helpful as is water. So find the tools that you enjoy and use them! :)
Pushing hurt more than contractions for me, but I know a lot of people that loved that part.

They are always either coming or going. They are never just there. Its like a period pain but it builds and builds and then calms till it stops. I just counted, i knew it wad roughly x amount of seconds till the middle point and after that i knew if was going. Labour is 100% a mind game

u have contraction after because ur placenta comes out next it all depends on the person and there pain tolerance

I didn't feel any pain with mine until after my water broke at 6 cm.

I had back labor and I hate back pain! My was pretty much non stop consistent but maybe I'm just a baby lol
