I have a perspective from the mans side. My husband had a very short lived fling with a girl, 15 months later she comes along with ' hey, I think this is your kid. Can we do a DNA test? ' since she was unsure and had several other men tested he waited for results so if It wasn't his kid he wouldn't be attached. So when his son was 9 months old he finds out he's a father. He had always wanted kids and this was his first child. He was robbed of that. He had no interest in being with her and I think that's her problem. She still has a problem with it. But he would have been there for his son. For the Dr visits and his birth and he wouldn't have missed the first 9 months of his sons life. He can't get that back. And he's a fantastic father and stepdad to my boys. We have our first baby together on the way now and he loves every part of our pregnancy. Even hearing me gripe. He almost cried the first time he felt her kick. He was 100% absorbed in watching her little heart flicker at our first ultrasound. This guy might not want to be with you but you should give him the opportunity to be a part of his child's life from the pregnancy on. If he chooses not to fine, at least he can't say that you kept him in the dark.
