Contractions/the baby?

I have this thing with my doctor... He keeps saying that what happens is the baby being curled up in the middle or part of the uterus, I still believe what I experience is contractions. This is my first pregnancy so I don't know how to distinguish them. Basically part of the uterus gets above the rest of the belly and it is tight and hard. I'm 22+4 right now. It starts to annoy me because I don't know if I should start worrying or not. They aren't painful just uncomfortable but pretty frequent. It's true that whenever my doctor touched my belly it wasn't as hard as it usually gets other times and I guess that's why he keeps saying is the baby... And, yeah. I'm so in love...
