Irregular & TYC #1- need advice!

Long story short my periods were never regular before going on the pill at 18. Now 27 and off the pill 4 months and have been TTC. Have not had a period since July 17. I went to the OB and had lab work done. Everything came back normal (I dont have the numbers) so now I have another appt next week to start clomid. First question- I have insurance but its not the best. Is clomid outrageously expensive? And did anyone have luck conceiving after taking clomid and not having had a period for a long time? Help!
