FMLA Help!

Lori

Hi all! I am needing some unbiased advice. To make a long story short I was pregnant with twins and delivered baby A at 19 weeks who passed away. I'm currently 26 weeks with baby B and now that I am high risk I had my doctor/employer approve my 12 week FMLA leave to be used intermittently. I went from working 40 hours a week to now approximately 30 hours to attend doctor's appointments, rest when I'm not feeling well etc.

I missed 2 days of work this week due to not feeling well and while I was gone questions were asked of me while I was out. I WILL NOT work for free so I asked my boss if I could do some work from home. She was hesitant but obliged. I addressed the issues (which were not urgent and easily could have been done without me) but I didn't mind working from the couch because the extra money helps. (I don't get paid with FMLA)

Got back to work today and my boss in short said "I don't communicate well enough with my coworkers and all of my tasks should be easily taken over while I'm out." Therefore I must not only do a 40+hour a week job in less than 30 hours AND try to train all my coworkers on all my work responsibilities. She was also confused as to why all of my work task weren't completed at the end of the week 🙄.

My baby is not due until late December/early January and if I take FMLA now I'll run out before baby is even born. The stress alone is not good for me so a part of me wants to take full leave now but then I risk being fired once my FMLA runs out before baby is born. I could stay at work and continue using my FMLA intermittently but then have to deal with the bullshit at work and stress of not getting everything done. I'm stuck and don't know what to do!!
