Our rainbow baby is our first (possibly our only) so we're really not putting a limit on our spending. I know we've spent well over $2,000 so far ($360 on wallpaper, $300 on her stroller, $400 on her crib and dresser set). What can I say we're excited parents just like everyone else. 😁💕
How much will you spend getting ready for baby?

Noticed you have a target diaper box! Just wanted to give you some advice from a mom who LOVES deals! The target diapers are GREAT but their wipes are the worst. They are the same material as a wet dryer sheet! If you’re looking for a cheaper wipe that is WAY better quality I would suggest parents choice from Walmart! Their wipes and diapers are both great quality and cheaper than the target diapers (even with the discount target gives for subscriptions)! Good luck and congrats! Expecting our rainbow baby boy in April!

As much as we can for what we can afford. Babies don't need to be so expensive as they say. The essentials are important, the other stuff like toys can wait if we can't afford it. They play with the pots and pans anyway, right? 😆

I've learned with my 2 kids that less is more!! Baby #3 will get hand me downs from brother and sister because it's not like she's going to care about stuff!! Our big spends will be on upgrading my other kids beds moving them up, so we can use the crib for the third time!

cloth diapers and the crib are the most we're spending. lol I wish we had cloth diapered our first. and by God breastfeeding is happening. lol big sister was a boobie baby, as will little sister. we got gifted a brand new carseat from a family friend, and and bassinet, big Sisters old clothes and everyone freaking out because baby, clothing is covered. my mom's getting the swing. like I don't see spending thousands of dollars on stuff that's outgrown in 6 months. lol that's to much. and big sister was fond of cat toys and cooking utensils. lol

I'm 22 weeks and we have spent $250 on paint and trim for the nursery, $150 on a MamaRoo (found on Craigslist, lady used for less than a month!), $200 on a crib (Craigslist, never used because baby was a co sleeper), and $50 on a glider (Facebook sale site). We're hoping to get the car seat stroller combo ($380) as a shower gift. However, we're ordering custom bedding so that will be around $400. We tried to save money by buying excellent condition "used" things so that we can buy whatever we don't get for the shower :) Also, when we told my parents that we were expecting they bought us a gorgeous bassinet! I definitely suggest starting early on the big items so you aren't stuck paying full price.

I will spend as much as I need to but it's already over 2000.00 and we are not even done! After 10 years of trying to have a baby money is not a problem we are just happy to have him!

Hopefully less than $500! Getting stuff at garage sales, craigslist, eBay, friends, showers! So thankful for our network of family and friends who I know are excited to help us! Trying to not be too proud! The way mommy spends will translate to how baby spends when she is a mommy! I want to help my children be content with less and appreciate the good blessings in life (something I'm striving to learn)! :) Don't get me wrong...the nursery will be a beautiful place...just minimalized! :) this is such a fun part of being a mom!! Preparing for baby!!!! 💗💙

Same! I love a deal. Crib $40, changing table $20 (which I refinished), some thrift store clothes & books, a few odds and ends, and an expensive stroller/ car seat combo. I also got some stuff from a big consignment sale and people have me a lot of hand me downs and things at the baby shower. No need to spend a lot of money. There are so much free and cheap high quality baby items out there if you’re willing to hunt.

Amen sister! This is #4 for us and I just wince now thinking back in ALL the $$$ we spent on our other kids as babies. It’s a lucrative market for sure. FB Marketplace is awesome! New Chicco car seat $200 we got for $40, newer IKEA crib, mattress, changing table & dresser, and a swing all for $50! I love saving money lol

Great idea! Just a tip that you may already know, buy the car seat new. If any car seat has ever been in a wreck it is recommended to have it replaced. If you buy a used one you don't know the true condition of it. Safety before savings right?!

Less than 500. We have the crib with changing table, two car seats, swing, two bouncers, a year's worth of clothing, pump, bottles, pack n play, bassinet, bath, carrier, nursing pillow...and so far have only spent 380. We only need a fee odds and ends nothing too expensive. We have gotten all our stuff at garage sales, Craigslist, and fb sale sites. I remember spending way to much on my daughter and using only part of it or something's I didn't even use at all. I don't want to spend $3500 + if we aren't even going to use it more than 6 months so we decided to pay less. and everything we've got looks oleanders new anyways, I don't settle for torn, stained, dirty stuff. Love his crib :)

Save your $$$ and start a college fund. No baby is going to care about wallpaper and matching furniture. They're going to remember how you loved them and supported them.

ultimately, love and safety come 1st. im not materialistic and sort of hope i pass that on. but i guess if he's into fancy stuff, I'll be fine with it but he's hardly going to be picking that up from moms side. maybe dads though lol

We did IVF so we have already spent $19k and haven't even started shopping for baby gear. Our baby(ies) will be fully stocked with whatever they need because we are so excited to get to this point. It's our first and I have already started window shopping for furniture. It looks like it will cost us well over $2500 for everything. It's definitely worth it!

Thanks. They transferred two embryos and for the first few weeks thought we had a "hidden twin". Long story short, no twin and our baby girl was born mid December, two weeks early. IVF is tough but so worth it!
