Contractions? Does it mean anything?

I had a NST today and they told me I was having some little contractions which I didn't feel at all. Since getting home, I've felt cramps, and this has me curious if they're contractions. They're not very painful, more like period cramps but I've had them pretty consistently for the past couple hours, Had them last night too for a few hours but contractions didn't cross my mind. I know this doesn't necessarily mean anything even if they are contractions, but could it mean something is starting? I'm 37 weeks, ftm.
