So I'm 30 and single AF but I'm ok with it because I'm using the spare time to work on myself. I've started journaling, working out 3x a week, got a new job, etc. I was talking to my mom about our cousins dress and how it's blush pink and very plain (but gorgeous!) for a wedding gown. (She is 40 and getting married for the 1st time). my mom starts telling me how I had better not choose a poofy or white/ivory dress for my future wedding because I need to be age appropriate and because im not a virgin. I whipped out my Pinterest board and showed her my dress photo collection (we've all got one) and she starts going in on how I'm being non-traditional by wanting a sheath style lace gown and how I need to wear a color besides white or a suit. I'm also not allowed to run off and elope apparently, because it "might upset people and cause talk". My face throughout the entire conversation is this

while I'm trying not to just laugh in her face because it's my mom. I swear, the woman lives in a 1975 version of the world. I'm nowhere near getting married and already she tries to control my non existent dress. *sigh*
