My handsome man turned 1 month yesterday!

My sweet boy. We had a rough start. I went into labor at 2:30am with contractions that were 8 mins apart. Went to the hospital and was only 1cm dilated as my contractions got stronger. They monitored me for a few hours and sent me home. My contractions stayed at 8 mins apart and got so bad. It was the worst back labor. I don't remember feeling the contractions in my abdomen, it was all my lower back. Fast forward 16 hours, screaming and crying in the waiting room. I finally got a room and was given my epidural. Baby's heart rate was low and no matter what positions they put me in, they couldn't get it up. I was only 4cm at this point. The doctor wasn't comfortable waiting for baby to come on his own so we rushed into the operating room for an emergency c section. Turns out that he had pooped before being pulled out and was breathing it in. This caused problems with his breathing and he was taken to the NICU. He had an IV, feeding tube and was on oxygen. I wasn't able to see him for the first 2 days because I had a fever and wasn't able to hold him until day 3. It was very hard on me. Then they told us they wanted to mel him for an additional 7 days so he can have a full round of antibiotics to make sure his lungs were clear of any possible infection. I balled my eyes out, but was feeling very fortunate that we had a healthy, strong, beautiful baby boy who would be coming home with us in a short week.

He is home and is just the sweetest, calmest boy. He has an old soul for sure.
