Your significant other needs $50 to pay a bill. You only have $50 left. Would you help him out or not?

I wouldn't tell my SO I didn't have it if I did because that's not truthful.
I'd help figure out why my SO and myself are in such trouble financially having $50 or less available to us.
Work together to get some help and budget, get a second job etc.
At one time, I worked 2 full time jobs for our family to improve our financial situation.

my man and mines paychecks are in between each others. he used his for rent, while i had mine. he felt bad asking me for money for lunch, and I sent that money to his without hesitation. what he needs, i give. what i need, he gives. we have teamwork

I'm currently in a similar situation. I'm living off student grants while I finish school and my fiancé is the poorest of the poor. He literally has the worst luck financially. 
I am always willing to give money to him but I actually said no for a couple reasons. First, my parents taught me to have boundaries because I'm one of those people who is too nice and can get walked over if I'm not on guard. Second, my fiancé is a proud man who would be ashamed to accept the help even though we're a team. Thirdly, we've always paid for our own food on dates. It started because I wasn't sure at the time if I wanted to date him and I felt like I would owe him something if I let him pay for me like tradition dictates. Then I found out how poor he was and how I grew up in privilege compared to him. I'm always going to be better off it seems, further ahead financially. So it made no sense for me to let him pay. it would be cruel in fact.
Those are my reasons for being financially separate from my SO. He can find the 50 dollars and I'll hug him through the tough times. Funny how my perspective has changed. I always wanted Prince Charming to pay... chivalry, ya know?

It's hard to say bc we share our finances but if I were down to my last 50, I'd maybe give him half? I'm not leaving myself with 0 though.

I've done it. A while back, SO lost his job and rent was coming up so I worked extra days to get his rent for him
