Foster Parenting/Puppering

So recently I've been studying and thinking about the idea of fostering kids and or animals. You have to be certified obviously for both considering emotional, physical, mental abuse isn't something to take lightly. You also have to go through different courses and government checks etc to ensure the safety of the child/animal, and last but not least have to be at least 21. My question is as a young person of almost 20 😂 what should I do to prepare for all the tests, courses etc? Any one have experience? Please note this isn't something I'm rushing into so you don't have to worry about the "You're too young" comments 😊
