Birth Control

So I've never been on birth control before and my doctor is insisting on me picking one but I feel so lost about it. I've done research on each and honestly they all sound like they could potentially be a bad fit for me. I'm due Oct 29 so my time for picking is slowly coming to an end. My doctor is no help since she is the kind to say, well they have ups and downs so pick one. Also I won't have insurance for much longer after the baby arrives so I'm afraid of taking a long term one or something that should be checked regularly if I know I might not be able to afford regular visits. Any advice or past experiences with different birth controls?
