Mirena removal.

I feel like I may be having complications with my mirena. I had it placed about a year ago after baby boy #3 was born.

My last 3 or 4 periods have been complete hell, I get them pretty regularly, monthly. From day 1 of my period I have horrible horrible back and hip pain, bloating , and abdominal tenderness. I've had my period since I was 11 years old and this is the first time I've had trouble with it like this

I'm not 100% sure it's being caused by the mirena but I want to eliminate the suspect just in case, so I would like to know what the removal process is like, and if it's painful.

I want to be put on a new birth control but I have no idea what kind and if anyone has any recommendations, I would love to know them.
