padsicles?!

anyone ever heard or used pad sicles? do they really work??? does it make you heal faster?

I have a somewhat TMI question about them (apologies lol). If you make them, but you’re experiencing postpartum bleeding, are they still absorbent? That’s the part I don’t understand about how they work.

I personally just bought the cotton round pads for makeup, drenched them in Witch Hazel, and popped them in the fridge. I intended to place them ontop of the pads for a little easier clean-up but ended up not needing them for my groin. They're a life saver for sore nipples though!

You can buy the medline perineal cold pack absorbent pads they give you in the hospital on amazon. The "padsickles" are a MESS. As they melt you get all wet & the combo of wet with the blood, awful! Unless you're going to also wear a depend, uncomfortable! Ill be having a homebirth so I'll be ordering plenty of medlines from amazon!
