Can you feel your IUD strings?

Question

I've read that most people are able feel them, and if they can't there may be an issue - or at the very least they should see a doctor to check if it's in place. But I've also seen that some people just have high uteruses, or that the strings soften and coil up with time. I'd like to see some statistics!

I can reach my cervix with my fingers, and I didn't get the strings trimmed, so I feel mine. They are pretty soft and thin, like thread would be. My boyfriend hasn't said anything about being able to feel them, and he's super sensitive, so I feel like if they were an issue he would've spoken up pretty quickly.

I can feel mine. My paragard has been in since January, and after every cycle I check to make sure they are still there lol. Every husband/boyfriend must be different because my husband has never been bothered by my strings and says he can't feel them

your doctor can cut the length on the string.. i had mine shortened because my partner could feel it during sex. i dont believe you need to feel it

I can't feel them because my cervix is really high (like difficult to get to for paps) and my fingers are short. My Dr waited a month to trim my strings to make sure they aren't too short.

When i had my mirena iud, i could never feel the strings but my husband could. It was uncomfortable for him as he said they poked him lol
