after normal delivery, when you feel good enough to cook and clean?

if everything goes smoothly that is what I am asking for?

everyone is different.... 
my first child was a vaginal delivery, no tears, no stitches... I went home from the hospital that same day and the next day I detailed my car inside and out and when for a 2 mile walk around the lake in the park.... I felt fine. 
my second child was born via c section and then immediately transfered to a children's hospital with a better nicu as he was preemie and needed help. after a c section they wanted me to stay in bed for 24 hours, then I could be released 36 hours after birth.... but my doctor and I made an agreement. if I could get myself off of IV pain meds, get up to walk and get a shower, eat and pee. then he Would give me a 4 hour pass to leave my hospital to  go see my baby within that first 24 hours then come back... if I was ok during that 4 hours I could go home the next day.... I had my son via c section at 9:05pm... I NEVER asked for any pain meds at all....  at 7:17am I told my nurse I was getting out of bed, she could either help me or get out of my way but regardless I was going... she came back with pill form ibuprofen and oxycodone, towels, breakfast and a wheelchair... I took the meds, ate, went to the bathroom, got a shower... I took it slow, it hurt but not enough to stop me... by noon I was sitting in the wheelchair ready to go. I spent my 4 hours with my child and came back to my hospital... at 8:00 that night, my Dr came in and said he wanted me to have one more night of rest/recovery there and I could go home any time I wanted the next day.... fair enough....  we left at 6:20am the next morning.... so 36 hours after his birth I was living in his nicu room, up and walking on my own and managing just fine....
