This weekend I had my in laws over for thanksgiving. I went out to the library with my son, and when I got home my mother in law was over. When I walked in the door she yelled congratulations and hugged me.

I was in shock, my husband and I haven't told anyone yet because it's so early. I immediately jumped to the conclusion my husband had told her and I was pretty angry. One because he did it on his own, and two because there is no way she would be the first to know.

When my husband and I told them about the last pregnancy the constantly told us it was the wrong time, and wouldn't allow us to talk about it until I was 6 months pregnant and they had accepted it.

So with my voice shaking I said "for what."

And my mother in law said "for getting your work into a gallery, it's fantastic news"

It was a surprising answer, especially since I had told this to her in person two weeks ago, but it was better than what I thought she was congratulating me about.

My husband later told me I went pale when she said that and he thought I was going to blow it with the amount of time it took me to respond.
