MIL uses my pregnancy as a excuse for her son?

So my MIL uses my pregnancy as a excuse for her son. So me and my husband went out to eat with my family and he decided to get the most expensive thing on the menu (we did not pay and knew from the beginning we weren’t going to) I did not know what he was going to order before he did. His meal alone was 30 dollars. I got on to him saying it’s not nice to do that when someone else is paying. I got the money back to my parents who paid and apologized. So we go out with his mother a couple days later and she asks how the dinner went and I told her that her son has expensive taste in food. She goes on to say it’s a pregnancy symptom for him. I just thought that was the dumbest thing I ever heard. I know men can get these apparently. I also know I didn’t get a 30 dollar meal and I’m the one actually growing a human in me. He hasn’t had any other “symptoms” sense that night. Anyone else think that was a dumb excuse? Let me tell you his mom is just like this and will make up anything to make her son seem like he does no wrong I’m not just being mean.
