Should girls be able to pay for dates ?

So a week ago or so it was my boyfriend and my 3 year anniversary and we went out to red lobster. While we were waiting for our food I was saying how I was going to pay cuz I didn't get him a gift and that was going to be my gifts. Instead tho he stole my card and said that I can't pay cuz he was going to pay. I whined saying how I never get to pay. Then he told me that his mom said that the gentleman should pay until they are married. I lowkey that's not right tho cuz I think women should be able to pay cuz I hate him paying cuz I feel like I'm being a gold digger and all that, plus he always makes jokes about how I owe him so much money cuz he always pays. (I've paid a couple times just saying) I just want to see what you guys think, also here's a picture of me and my cutie...
