Pap smear while pregnant?

My next appointment is tomorrow morning and my doctor told me she will be doing a Pap smear before my regular prenatal appointment. I’m 13 weeks this week. Is that normal to get a Pap smear while pregnant? I know, it’s extremely important to get one done to check for cancer, disease, etc. but i was just curious if anyone else got it done and if it was painful at all? Thanks!

Normal. I had one at 14 weeks. Don't be concerned if you bleed a little afterwards either, that's also completely normal. I see a lot of women on here panicking about that, so I figured I'd let you know before you have it done.

Had my first Pap smear at 7 weeks pregnant and didn’t even feel a thing! I was scared it was going to be more sensitive down there but it wasn’t!

No it's not painful and its completely normal to get one when you are pregnant. I used to work with an OB for a while needless to say about 90% of the pregnant ladies would never get a yearly pap only when they where pregnant would they get one. Well some of them had cancer or pre cancerous cell and if they would've gotten pregnant they wouldnt of known they had a problem.

I got one at my first prenatal appt. didn’t hurt at all, was super fast. I mean it was uncomfortable but definitely didn’t hurt.

Yes they always do just to be sure u don’t have a std or anything so they know everything will be safe for baby wen u have it it’s totally normal
