Do you only listen to music that reflects your values

Co

So I ask as this has been on my mind for awhile as well as in light of the Eminem freestyle.

The poll question is ***Do you only listen to music that reflects your values?***

I have to say no, I listen at random to a variety of music that most certainly does not represent my values.

Do you? Is it indicative of someone's personality and stances? Do you judge someone off of their taste in music or only specific genres?? Do you think music emboldens people to act out in the way their choice in music describes? As in violent music=violent listeners.

For example my bf and I really like some of DMX's songs, but as some know the lyrics are explicit and often inappropriate (he's also weirdly fascinated with dog analogies). We like Eminem๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ, I also like Lil dicky, and admittably I like one religious song because it says nothing about god and has a good rhythm๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…

I do judge๐Ÿ˜. I'll admit this. It's not a deep judge upon character, but judging nonetheless. I judge the lil gals sitting at our pool blaring really really awful rap and rapping along with music that is so loud you cannot hear the lyrics, save for the racial slur every couple of choruses. Is this cuz of the music?๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ maybe. It's pretty shitty music, but probably more related to their brazen usage of the word and obnoxious presence at night๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I expect heat for that๐Ÿ˜… they could be 100% nice people.
