Is it Okay to Go Through Your Man's Phone?

Why do girls think it's okay to go through their SO's phone as if it is their right and duty to do so? Why would you go through someone's property like that? If you dont trust him or you think he's cheating, just LEAVE, DAMN. I hear about these girls doing "weekly checks" of their man's phone and it's just like... what the fuck? Have some faith in your man? I get so heated when girls think they have the right to snoop in someone else's business just because they're in a relationship. It's petty and shows just how insecure they are. damn.

Neither of us have passwords. Just the lock and unlock screen. Swipe it and you're in. Even still we don't just go through each other's phones. There are times he has his and I don't have mine or vice versa and we need to use the others, no issues. Like if he needs maps in the car and mine is dead he'll hand me his. But if I'm on for maps that's the only thing I'm doing. He needed me to Google something the other day and I left mine at home, so he handed me his. Or times can't answer a call or reply to a text so we have the other do it for us. But we don't snoop around the other texts while we're on there. We pretty much talk to the same people (his family and my family) so we're pretty boring :D He could go through mine if he wanted but he'd give up after about 5 mins when he sees how freaking boring it is. I only have one game that I ask him for help with (word cookies) but if I get stuck I just hand him my phone and he knows what to do :D Or we'll lay in bed and get caught up watching stupid videos on Facebook or YouTube. That's about as exciting as it gets.

I only go through it for things like YouTube or instagram because my phone sucks and sometimes doesn't work when I'm trying to show him something. I did a "check" once bc I started dating him after getting out of a relationship with a liar and manipulator. But he was really hurt about and idk i just kinda realized that he wasn't going to be like my ex so I think the idea of a "phone check" is crazy now. It's something parents do to their children, not what adults do to their SO.

I personally don't want to be in a relationship where I don't trust my partner to the point that I feel the need to look through his phone. We're adults and if I'm feeling unsure I can talk to him but if he tells me I'm wrong I'll believe him. Sure I use his phone for music, to text or call someone if I don't have my phone, or to go through our photos of us for fun. Once the trust is gone so is the relationship imo

It should be okay. My fingerprint is in my boyfriends phone. Just ask. He shouldn’t have a problem with it if he’s not doing anything wrong. Trust is key in a relationship

I dont go thru his phone but I do have my fingerprint on his phone and his on mines   I can be on his phone if I want and he can use mines if he wants, I do not go thru his phone unless I feel like he's hiding shit which he isn't but if I were to feel like he was then I would go thru his phone with him being there Idgaf. i grab his phone all the time and his iPad too doesn't bother him , everyone's relationship is different

I think it's weird. People justify their actions after checking either way. He did cheat: "He was worse than me" (and yes, cheating is worse but that's not the point) or he wasn't cheating: "now I know and he shouldn't have anything to hide anyway". To me, someone wanting to check my phone would signify a lack of trust.
