This really irritates me.... š¤
What I absolutely can NOT stand is when people just assume that youāre going to have kids. Iāve had it countless times now.
Family members, old friends, people in school. Like not everyone is particularly fond of kids, and not everyone is going to have the same lifestyle that you maybe have or want in future.
One example that probably annoyed me the most, was about 6 month ago when I was still in school. It was coming to the end of the day, no one in my health and social class was really doing any work.
Most people had left, so there was this one group of girls, I didnāt really talk to them that much.
I didnāt really have any friends in school so I mostly listened in on peopleās conversations unintentionally.
They were talking about how many kids they want, girl or boy etc.
Then looked over at me and said āOlivia how many kids do you want?ā I sat and internally sighed.
I replied with āI donāt really want any kids, so, noneā
They then looked at me as if Iād murdered a kitten or something. Started rambling on about how they donāt understand how anyone couldnāt want any. Asking if I didnāt even find them cute or anything. Nope, sorry not in my opinion.
Like jeez I have other life plans.
Iād 100% prefer a puppy over a kid any day.
This isnāt a dig at anyone who actually wants children btw, just people who assume and expect you to have them.
Has anyone had people confront them about this sorta stuff before?
