Ears pierced

I want to pierce my baby’s ears she’s a month old but I heard the gun might be to much pressure on her earlobe but someone told me to do it myself with a needle and nope I can’t do that! If you pierced your baby’s ear how old were they (if they were little) and how did you do it? I want to do it when she’s little so for those of you who let your own daughters decide that’s great for you but I on the other hand want to get them done when she’s little and won’t remember the pain.
