Confused 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is a bit of a complicated situation to say the least! I have a partner and have been with him for 2 years. I also have a male friend who I didn't date officially but used to be very close with like almost bf&gf; when we were like 13/14. I'm now 19 and myself and him are still friends, he came out of a year relationship about a month ago and I've been speaking to him and trying to help him move on.

A few days ago we had a heated discussion as he had been very off with me the a few days beforehand, he started to say that I always brought me and him up (literally only ever brought up ridiculous stuff, nothing romantic we were kids), he then started saying how I never talk positively about my partner (I didn't admittedly, but I never spoke badly of him either. I didn't want to rub it in his face that my relationship is successful), then he said 'nobody will ever be able to make you smile as much as he can' and 'I don't want to interfere in your relationship' - which he isn't 🤷🏼‍♀️

But here's the thing that got me, he said 'I can only have half of you'. Before he decided to delete me off of everything and cut me off. What on earth does that even mean? I've spoken to a few people and they all seem to think that's his way of saying he wants me to himself or it means he wants more of me (not in a friend way) but I'm not so sure? Opinions pls 🤦🏼‍♀️
