Genetics, fertility treatments, or luck?

I want to know how you ended up with multiples! I would LOVE to have twins but I have no twins in my family. I have heard that some people end up with multiples after receiving fertility treatments but I want to know my chances without either of those things. 
What do you think is the reasoning behind yours?

Fraternal run in mothers side, but identical are totally by luck. Fertility treatments- clomid, letrozole can increase chances because they the increase the number of eggs produced.  But a twin pregnancy is tough- really tough. And newborn twins are no piece of cake. You need to have help as its a two person job around the clock.  Just my two cents- my girls are 2 months old now and I love them to death but often think how much easier just one baby would be! Of course I wouldn't trade them for anything but it's definitely tough sometimes.

I wish, my husband's family has multiple identical twins but so far seems like we'll just be having one. Thought we saw a twin hiding but time will tell.

We found out yesterday we are having twins. Neither one of us has any twins in the family. My Dr said it was a 1 in 100 chance.

My mil had 4 sets of twins the mothers genetics makes it possible for twins like men make the sex of the baby so if twins don't run in mamas side then no . My SIL also had twins and asked the doctor about this and women determine twins and more complicated when they are fraternal vs identical lol

I'll 21 weeks tomorrow, expecting fraternal twins, a boy & girl. This is my 3rd pregnancy, I have a 8 yr old boy, & 6 yr old girl, this pregnancy was unexpected, but we were very happy. It was amazing because I told my kids we were gonna have a baby, & my 6 yr old, 5 at the time kept saying I was having two babies, & I kept telling her no, just one. Then at my first ultrasound we were shocked when she said we were having twins!! I never expected to have 2 singleton pregnancies, then twins the 3rd time around!! Im 29 yrs old, & didn't do any kind of fertile treatments or anything, so never thought we would have twins, but we are very excited!!

I'm pregnant with my first I'm 6 weeks.
Twins run in my family. My nan had 4 sets 2 sets were identical and two sets were non identical.
My cousin gave birth to identical twins two months ago so I guess there could be a chance that I do too. 
We share the same nan xxx

I had clomid and trigger shot, but twins also run in my family. Lots of twins. My uncles are twins and my grandmother had twin sisters. My sister was pregnant with twins at one point. Ended up losing one. It's amazing. And terrifying.
