Do I have to go to court ?

So someone stole my car on Labor Day. They just finally obtained a warrant for his arrest last week and he was arrested this morning. Later, I get a call saying he is being processed for imminent release. So I'm assuming someone bailed him out. He's facing a misdemeanor and a felony charge. I have never been in this situation before so I don't know what happens from here, can he still be charged? And also do I have to be in court when he is scheduled to go?
