Maybe changing ring setting/head??

hey ladies, wanted y'alls opinions on something. so on my engagement ring, I've been thinking of having the prongs/head/setting/whatever-you-call-it changed. the diamond is small (.37 carat oval) and I just feel like the 6 prongs are "overtaking" the diamond and not showcasing it. hubby is totally cool with whatever I want to do obviously. what do you guys think?? does it look okay to you, or do you have a suggestion on a different setting??

Beautiful ring! I think you are right, if you minimise the claws the diamond will be more pronounced and elegant. I also have an oval engagement ring but with 4 double claws.

I have a princess cut and my prongs are ALWAYS loosening and making the stone move. If I could have 6 prongs I would. It would save me the panic and the time of having to take it to a jeweler to be tightened in the setting.

I would maybe try a halo ring setting? It would probably keep it just as sturdy but with out over powering the diamond in metal.

I have an oval opal I wear regularly, and the 4 prongs have never loosen up :), I think if they’re well made, that shouldn’t happen. My engagement ring is a round cut in a 4 prong setting and its as tight as ever 😄 I think it will look lovely, since less prongs=more light=more sparkle 😄
