Did you get a new dress for your baby shower? 💕

My husband has been arguing with me lately that I don’t need to wear a new dress for my baby shower. He says I’ve got enough to whose from to wear already. They’re all my pre-pregnancy dresses so yeahhhhh most don’t fit anymore but okay. Anyways, we aren’t financially burdened, and the dress I’ve picked out is $39 so it’s not like I’m wanting to spend hundreds on it anyways. Am I asking for too much?? Like am I being unreasonable? Please comment too if you’d like because I’ll be showing my hubs this poll 😅

This sounds like a control issue for him. My husband and I are partners, so if I want a new dress and money isn’t an issue, I get the dress. Also, my husband is sitting next to me so I asked him what he thought. He was like “what? The fuck? Who would do that?” So there ya go.

I wore a maternity dress I already had. But my husband didn't care if I bought one or not. I just couldn't find one cheap enough for me to justify wearing it only once. It's not a wedding, nor is it a prom. It's closer in my eyes to a birthday party and I don't buy dresses for that unless they are super cheap. The baby is the big event so I'd rather all my money go to getting her things or saving for our future. Just me being cheap though.

if me and my fiance could have afforded it then I would have gotten a new dress but money is very tight so I just wore whatever dress fit on the day I did feel sad about not having a pretty new dress but at the end of the day I was happy to be having the baby shower

My husband is very conservative with money. I try to help out when I can but when it comes to pregnancy, he's kind of at a stand still because he knows I can't fit into my old clothes. Maybe just talk it out and come up with a compromise. Like I was able to find a dress I liked at kohls for $15. Good luck!

My husband get me two because I was having two baby showers.  I wanted one but when we went shopping I could not decide which I liked more.  They were both under $30.

I only had 1 maternity dress so I got a new dress for my shower. And I probably would've spent up to $50 on it if I needed to but I ended up spending $12ish, luckily.
