How many people did you invite to your baby shower?

I want a small and simple baby shower, but I'm feeling pressured to invite people. What was your rule of thumb for choosing the guest list?

My rule was, if I like you you are invited and if I don’t like you you are not. Simple. It was ladies only except for my SO, our dads and granddads. No family we didn’t speak to regularly and only good friends. That’s it!

I had mine last weekend, we had about 50-55 there. I didn’t invite distant relatives or people we weren’t close to. The way I decided was, if I didn’t think you were close enough to see this baby and watch him grow, I didn’t think it was necessary for you to be there.

We’re at about 100 because it’s co-ed, we have big families, it’s his family’s first grand baby, and my mom has been waiting forever for me. It’s honestly not that stressful I’ve just tried to keep it simple and assigned certain duties to my best friend and sisters lol. But you have no obligation to invite anyone. Believe it or not there are plenty of folks we are not inviting.

I invited everyone. My first baby shower had easily 50 people from my side if the family and my friends. The one my MIL threw for me had easily 30 or 40.

I have mine tomorrow, i invited roughly 35 people and i think, based on RSVPs, about 25-30 will be showing up.
