I watch a lot of lifetime movies, but it can happen. So comments/opinions are also wanted. 😶

They are pretty vigilant about that now. Maternity wards are usually locked down and visitors are very limited. Baby gets an ankle bracelet immediately after birth, and it's keyed so that the baby can't leave the floor without setting out alarms. Mom also gets an ankle bracelet, and in many hospitals, there's a sensor on your bracelet that keys in with the baby's too. I know at my hospital the bracelet played a little song when we were close. It was so cool and very reassuring. If you are still worried, definitely talk it through with your hospital. They should be able to explain their specific procedures. :-)

I picked my delivery hospital based on their security. Also, if baby had to leave my side for ANY reason, my husband went with her. She never went into the nursery. Just keep your eyes on your baby and pick a good hospital.
