during birth...

would it be weird if I ask my doctor to start checking me weekly towards the end at my appointments to ensure not having any ob's? I'm just so worried...I don't want this even being an issue when in labor. does anyone have any positive birth stories? I also am hoping they will prescribe me meds sooner..I feel like he will come early as he is measuring 3 weeks ahead and I'm only almost 32 weeks.
