“Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative” experiences?

Hey, everyone! 
First time mom here and just starting to learn about the “Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative”. The hospital I am going to be going to isn’t officially listed as one, but a lot of it’s policies sound similar to it so I am not sure. I’m just wondering what others have experienced with this Initiative.

Mine was great.  I loved having my baby in my room. The nurses I had was good at helping teach me how to bf. But I will say the nurse I had right after my c-section was not very patient with helping.  My lo was 6 4 when born and his sugar was low. She forced him to latch and than formula fed him after he latch. We had a hard time at first with eating. I had taken all the classes and was told they would help a little with bf but they would let him latch on his own the first time. That baby knows what to do and that it’s best for baby.  But we get feeding down now.  I was there for 4 days because my blood pressure would not go down. At one point I was so tired. The nurse offered to take baby for a little bit so I could get a little sleep. With didn’t work out the way I had hoped. I wake up in a Panic because my baby was not in the room. Like I said I loved having him in the room.

I have mixed feelings about hospitals that have the baby friendly certification to meet the WHO standards. I applaud the focus on breastfeeding, rooming in, lack of pacifiers, etc. But I think there is still a gap in American birth culture and support that can make the baby-friendly initiatives not mom friendly and cause a lot of stress.
