First OB appointment..?? PLEASE HELP!

I am 5 weeks today with my rainbow baby. I called my OB office yesterday to schedule an appointment, explained to her I've had a miscarriage in the past and was extremely nervous with this pregnancy and would like to get in within the next week or two. The receptionist refused to schedule me before 10-12 weeks. Is that normal for most OB offices??

I always thought that about 8 weeks is normal but I’ve heard some drs offices wait as long as about 10 weeks. Maybe try a different drs office or one of those ultrasound places if you want to be seen sooner.

After losing my last baby, my doc had me test hcg levels early and ensure doubling appropriately. Having a 6 week sonogram check.

I’d call somewhere else. The dr I went to said they see me at 7 weeks.

I have had two miscarriages so my OB is seeing me at 5 weeks. I think he sees all his patients that early, tbh.

I would call your ob’s nurse directly if you have their number. That’s what I had to do. They know I’ve gone thru 2 early pregnancy losses and know I get really worked up over small things so they had me do blood tests every week till I hit 6000 then had an ultra sound. I got my first one at 6w4d and my ob scheduled another one for the 1st so I’ll be 8w6d. Then I have my first ob appt the following week. They make ya wait because there’s not much to tell in the beginning can’t hear the hb don’t see much besides a blob. But call your ob’s nurse see if they can get u in for something!!

I don't have a history of mc, but my dr won't see me until 10-12 weeks either. I thought it was strange, but after doing some research, it seems pretty normal. There's not much they can see/do until that point. I definitely understand the anxiety of not know for 100% sure that everything is okay, though. 
I'm currently 6 weeks, 5 days and of course my appointment isn't until I'm exactly 12 weeks, so I have a ways to go. I'm just trying to trying to not stress and take each day as it comes.
