family wedding drama

so my brother inlaw got married a few weeks ago. my husband and i dont live close to his family 2 hours or more away from everyone. we are also living paycheck to paycheck if im being honest!so we get the wedding info, and we read that they dont want any kids at thier wedding.? we have 2 kids we now have to find a sitter for. we then find out all the grand kids but ours are in the wedding. but mine can't even come?naturally i was upset a little.i didn't say anything it's their day.we ended up not having money get a sitter to go. we don't make much money and had to buy food for the house. they are mad of corse ni feel bad.but are we bad ppl for not going? we didn't go bc we simply didn't have the means.
