My cat is afraid of me now

I opened the door to leave this morning and heard a yelp. Apparently the cat was behind the door, got his foot caught underneath when I opened it. He ran away and hid. I found him, he seemed okay, but favoring his paw. I came home, he called to me (as usual - he's a chatty little fella), saw me and ran to the bedroom. Came right back out, but dodged me. I found him, he seemed okay with me picking him up, but he is avoiding me. I feel terrible I accidentally hurt him and the look of terror in his face upsets me because I'm his mama and feel like I've traumatized him. I had to get this out, I'll see how he is when the hubs comes home. Update: he came to the bedroom and is lovin' on me 😄😄😄😄😄😚
