Planning for being off work

Hello! I just got my BFP and we are so excited!! My only concern is that I am the one who is the main bread winner of the household and I am afraid to take off more than what my company pays for if needed. On the other hand, I wish I could stay at home indefinitely to raise my child but it just doesn't seem possible. Is there anyone in a similar situation or does anyone have any advice?
