Only seeing yolk sac at 8 weeks.. Normal?

Question

Is it normal to not be able to see the baby or heartbeat at 8 weeks ? 
Yolk sac is there and dr doesn't seem overly worried. I just think it's odd, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the heart started beating around 6 weeks? 
Has this happened to anyone else before? What was the outcome?

You should be able to see the baby at 8 weeks BBUUTTT you may be less than you think you are and that's why your doctor isn't worried. With my first son, we thought I was ten weeks and I was only 7 weeks because I ovulated weirdly. So try not to worry. It's common to miscalculate if ovulation decides to happen whenever it wants to. Good luck mama!

My doctor listened to my baby’s heartbeat at 12 weeks and told me that we might not be able to hear it because it’s still too early. Don’t be worried, I think your baby is fine :)

At 8 weeks you should see what looks like a gummy bear.

this was at 9 weeks, but you see the gummy bear and the halo (yolk sac) just up above her.

I don't mean to worry you but when I went in at 8 weeks and there was only a yolk sac it ended in MC. I went in a week later and it was the same, I was only measuring like I was 5.5 weeks too. I hope your outcome is better! My first pregnancy (also ended in MC) we saw the heart beat at 6w2d.

Maybe depending on the quality of the ultrasound machine?? I don't know, I seen mine at 6 weeks
