I would encourage them to take self defence classes if they wanted to. I’m not personally teaching anything. I couldn’t fight my way out of a paper bag.

I’d put them in karate or some self defence class. I think it’s important to teach that you should only use it as DEFENCE and not to start problems. I live in a city with almost 1 million and growing up I was followed etc and honestly I wish I could have know how to defend myself if those situations progressed. Guns are illegal here and so is pepper spray. I can run pretty fast but that’s all I have.

Same thing I said on the other post. I believing in avoiding violence at all costs but when absolutely necessary self defense is ok.

To be honest how sad is it that we have to teach women to be responsible for self defense? But not teach men how to respect women? That being said all of us in my house are fighters. But I’m definitely considering a boxing class for myself and the kids. Now that seems like a shit ton of fun and exercise

Will I put my children (both genders) in self-defense classes? Yes. Everyone needs to know how to defend themselves.

I would teach them self defense for sure. Regardless of gender I would teach my child to understand when to fight back and when to walk away.

Only a year into dating, and our "kids" are basically dreams and fairy dust RN, and my SO is already saying they will Ne in martial arts, no matter the gender. I agree. I will also have the rule my mother gave me: if they attack you, beat them down, but never throw the first punch.
