Are baby shower games a must? (Highly important)

I'm throwing my own baby shower and already have spent a lot of money i don't genuinely have..I was hoping on playing "The Price Is Right" baby item version, "My Water Broke" (tiny baby dolls frozen inside ice - first ice to melt = first water to break = prize) and "Guess Who, Mommy vs. Daddy" but now am kind of at a stand still financially ...I don't know if I should go a bit out of my way to make sure these games are still available or if I can leave it as is with food, music, dancing and just all around good vibes. Please help! Baby shower is November 12th, not much time to decide and prepare. Thanks ladies ❤️

We only did a diaper raffle (bring in diapers or wipes for a ticket in a drawing), guess how many candies in a jar, guess the size of my belly, and then when opening gifts we had a timer set and after so many minutes whoever's gift I was on got a prize. All were able to be done during the arrival of guests, eating, and then opening gifts. We didn't have to carve out any extra time for a game

Do whatever is right for you! Don’t feel pressured about what you’re “supposed” to do. For me I thought it would be fun and recruited my nieces and nephews (4 of them) to take charge of 5 games and my sister (their mom) to provide a few small but nice prizes ($10 to $25 gift cards and lotto scratchers). But you do what you can! My shower is the 18th and I am shocked at how expensive even “simple” parties can be.

The last baby shower I went to was a mix of people that didn't really know each other so it was nice to have games. But still not really necessary. There's definitely games you can do for super cheap if you want them. A baby word search or scramble? That game where everyone has mardi gras beads and if you hear someone say a certain word (baby perhaps) you steal their beads until one person has them all. I bet Pinterest has lots of ideas!

I printed my own on the computer. Nursery Rhymes, Name the Baby Animal and Baby Bingo. I only paid for the card stock and Pens for everyone. I think they’re a good ice breaker for everyone

I really don’t think it’s a must, but I think it definitely helps with the awkward, cause people know you but they may not know each other. Plus you could get some good laughs
