brown/bright red spotting at 8 weeks?!

I called to ask my doctor about it and the receptionist set an appointment for 2 weeks away and said I can't ask a nurse medical advise because I'm not a patient yet. She was being a bitch. The spotting started last night as brown, but this morning it is mostly brown but has bright red spots in it. I've read spotting can be normal but bright red blood is not. Has anyone had experience with this and everything be okay??? I miscarried in July and I'm a nervous wreck. If I lose this baby, it will be my last. My husband and I can't go through any more grief. :(
