How much should I charge?

This blanket is for breast cancer awareness month, it’s 80”x60”, it took 18 skeins of yarn to make (each skein costing $2.98) and about 2 hours a night for 12 nights to finish it. I’m just not sure how much to charge for something like this. I’m wanting to start an Etsy page selling blankets and other things so I need to know how much someone would pay for this. I’ve seen blankets on Etsy for close to $300.

I depends on the buyer honestly. I love that blanket.. but ***I***wouldn't pay over $50 for it just because that's more than I paid for my queen sized quilts.

Is the money going towards breast cancer research? Or is it just the coloring? I personally never spend more then $40 on a blanket unless its a comforter then my limit is $100 and ive got a ton of blankets if the proceeds are being donated id be willing to pay more otherwise id say $50

Hand made items are always worth more. The problem is how much is it worth to the buyer when they look. There will be someone who wants to buy your things for the price you ask and as long as you are up front and trust worthy you should have a great time opening up a page. It does take a while and a lot of dedication. My best friend has her own business and she works so hard! But she loves it!! And she makes good money on it and it’s great quality! I would honestly charge $150 for the blanket.

I think anywhere from 90-120 is a reasonable price. People don't understand how much work goes into it so I always lower the price a little to make sure it'll be sold if you are donating the money for breast cancer is say 150! It is a beautiful blanket I hope you find it a home!❤️

well that's about $60 in supplies alone. think about how much you value your time (and of course if you enjoy crocheting, this may not be as big of a part of the cost to you) if you decided to only "pay yourself" $2/hr that's still already over $100 right there. it's a beautiful blanket btw and I wish you luck. one tip is that I think if I were in the market for a blanket, I'd rather see a size like "queen" or "twin" in addition to or instead of the actual dimensions. good luck!

For me, I wouldn’t buy it just because the proportions aren’t what I’d be looking for. But if I did want it, and it was for breast cancer awareness. I’d consider paying more if you were donating part of the proceeds

Time and materials this blanket should be like $300 but logically most won't pay that much anymore. Sucks. Handmades are pretty undervalued anymore. Maybe try a raffle that would get things moving.

I wouldn't charge less than $100 and honestly would go for over $150 as the starting price to see if you get a buyer. I voted in the $100 range because that was the bare minimum.

Are you donating the proceeds to a breast cancer charity? If not I wouldn’t say anything about it being for breast cancer awareness. 
Items like this are kinda hard to make money on. Your materials costs are very high, and it is labor intensive. Few people are going to be willing to pay enough for you to make a reasonable profit. Especially when mass produced blankets are so much cheaper.
