Mother's Day, no baby?

Question

Is it wrong to celebrate Mother's Day even though you don't have a baby yet? Even though i had a misscarriage and lost my baby i still consider myself a mother to a little angel. Others think im crazy. Is it really that wrong?

I hate to sound insensitive, but being a mother goes way beyond carrying a child for any length of time. I think Mother's Day is for women who have carried and delivered and are currently caring for their child

I don't know, it's kind of a crazy. Not trying to be insensitive. I too have had a miscarriage, and though the loss hurts, I don't feel it makes me a mother yet.

Do whatever you need to do, friend. If you feel you were a mother, then celebrate.
Also, if you feel others are going to be unkind because of your decision to celebrate Mother's Day, simply don't tell them. Make it a private thing.

I wouldn't celebrate it, but if my SO could toss a "Happy Mother's Day" towards me that would be nice.

I think if others want to celebrate even tho they haven't had their babies yet or maybe their babies are in heaven then that's ok. Who am I to determine if someone is a mother? But personally I'm superstitious and won't celebrate til my baby is born x
