Safe to fly during first trimester?

Scheduled to fly a transatlantic at 10 weeks, for a two week trip with 2 legs in between. Scared of the radiation and miscarriage risks.. has anyone experienced flying during this time?

I did a small domestic flight. According to my research it is perfectly safe, and the radiation used in airport security is negligible. If you are worried you can always request a pat down. I will say though.. wash your hands and be vigilant about not getting a cold since your immune system is down. Flying with a cold sucks! And you really can’t take anything for it. I caught a cold before my return flight and was so stuffed up it took days for my ears to pop. I also had vertigo from the stuffiness in my inner ear.

I just flew and asked to bypass the X-ray and they were perfectly ok with it. The pat down was no biggie. Have a great trip!

Just talk to your doctor to make sure they are worried everybody is different

Thanks for all the comments ladies! I definitely feel more at ease about it.. My biggest obstacle sounds like getting past the nausea this trimester and praying it will ease down by then!!
