What’s a nice way of saying “This place is so gross I’m embarrassed to bring people here”

So my roommate is really gross. She didn’t start out that way, in fact she started out very neat but then she got sick and now she’s just leaving everything everywhere. Today I walk in after sleeping at my SO’s place and when I opened the door I almost vomited from the smell of rotting food. She had a bra hanging on the door handle and there were clothes all over the floor and a chair in the middle of our two beds surrounded by even more clothes blocking me from getting me to my mirror. Her boyfriend was asleep on the couch in the living room but usually he’ll sleep in the middle of all the clothes by her bed. I don’t know what to do. I can’t be mean to her because she told me that once her roommate complained about the smell and she harassed her for the rest of the year by leaving food under her bed. Advice?
