Should high-school relationships last longer than a month?

I have a friend who is happy I got dumped because they think high school relationships should only last for about a month. I find it irritating because if you actually like a person you should go for it, right? 
I just want other people’s opinion on this stuff, If you have any advice for me that would be cool too

If all of your relationships last only about a month then you are either a player or you are doing something very wrong

I met my boyfriend in high school when we were 15 we have been dating for 4 years on the 20th so no they should last as long as they can.
