C Section & Pushing
I am only 19 & i am 14 weeks pregnant. My aunt has 3 kids, she has always had a c section she told me its because pushing is too much. My mom has always pushed all her pregnancies even pregnant with my brother & sister who are twins. I am very confused on which one i should go along with. I have never had any type of surgery & a c section sounds very painful i am nervous that i will feel everything. but pushing also sounds painful & i heard your vagina burns when the babies coming out, then someone told me i could just ask for an epidural but my mom said you don't always need an epidural. how do i know if i need an epidural, how do i know when it's too late to ask for an epidural ? I really just want to get my baby out the easiest & safest way & i do not want a procedure that uses allot of medication. I am very confused. Please help
UPDATE
I am from Ct. our main hospitals are saint francis & hartford hospital when you live in my area. i live in manchester. the main branch of saint francis the big hospital is in hartford, same for hartford hospital. but for saint francis they have other branches all around, they go to avon & vernon & east hartford, even glastonbury. normally people around us dont go to another hospital. the people who live in like willamantic & coventry go to other hospitals, if they dont feel like taking the ride to vernon often. But at those 2 doctors they give you a choice. My mom gave birth at Hartford hospital & my aunts, both of them, Saint francis. I know i have a choice because the doctor who let me hear my babies heart beat asked me which one i was considering & i told him i didnt know i had options, he told me c section & pushing & that i should take allot of time to think about it since its my first pregnancy. thank you for all of your helpful comments explaining the differences with each procedure & why i might want to push rather than consider c section.
